Why MSC Yacht Club Was the Game-Changer We Didn’t Know We Needed

My family and I have been cruising for a while now—specifically with MSC for the past 4 years.
It started in 2022 when we booked the Divina right after cruising opened back up post‑COVID. The deal was
too good to pass up: a balcony cabin, all‑you‑can‑drink bottled water, juices, and sodas
(OK let’s be honest, I was here for my mojitos and margaritas too), and as many child‑friendly strawberry
daiquiris as my daughter could put away (and trust me… it was probably her body weight).

We’d cruised Royal before, and yes, Carnival is known for its low prices—but Carnival just never spoke to us the
way MSC did. MSC offered that sweet spot of value and experience, so it became our family’s end‑of‑summer tradition.
Over the past 3 years, we’ve sailed Divina, Seaside, and Seashore—twice.

“Again?”

When I told my family this year we were gearing up for our annual MSC trip, I saw the look. Again?
I’m an “if it works, why fix it?” person—but they had a point. I wanted it to feel new. That’s when I started looking
into Yacht Club. I always thought it was an unnecessary splurge… until I did the research, checked
the upgrade price, and made it happen. I surprised my husband on Father’s Day. None of us were ready for how different it would be.

MSC has become our end‑of‑summer family tradition.

The Arrival: Instant Vacation Mode

From the moment we pulled up, it felt different. We dropped our bags at the Yacht Club area, parked, and were
escorted to a private tent with light snacks, champagne, mimosas, and juices. No lines, no chaos—just smooth sailing
into vacation mode. We sipped champagne, got our keys and wristbands while seated, and a butler escorted us—bypassing
everyone else—straight onto the ship.

Bubbles and bites with a view—vacation mode: ON.

A “Ship Within a Ship”

Our first stop was our stateroom (hello, 18020). I’ve stayed in 4‑ and 5‑star hotels before, but I still wasn’t
prepared for how beautiful it was. Marble shower with a bench? Yes. Fully stocked fridge with Italian sodas and
gourmet treats? Yes, please. The whole area feels like a peaceful, elegant resort tucked inside the ship.

The Food That Changed Everything

Our first meal in the Yacht Club restaurant was a game‑changer. My husband ordered the snapper, Liliana and I both
got filet mignon, and Malakhi had chicken fingers and fries (which, according to him, were “amazing”). It wasn’t just
the food—it was the warm, intuitive service that made us feel remembered by name.

Yes, all of this was included.

Topsail Lounge & All the Little Extras

Between meals, we lived in the Topsail Lounge—pastries, canapés, and some of the best coffee I’ve had at sea.
Everything felt intentional and unhurried.

And somewhere between the morning coffee runs, sunset views from our balcony, and the endless little luxuries,
Liliana looked at me and said, “Mommy, this is the best trip.” That one sentence? Worth every penny.

Ocean Cay day: the kids loved the waterpark and arcade; we loved how easy everything felt.

Was It Worth It?

Absolutely. Compared to other big‑name lines, the value was incredible: more privacy, better food, personalized
service, and no wasted time. It turned our annual MSC trip into something brand new—and now I can’t imagine cruising any other way.
